The Power of A Secret – Kari Jobe

The power of a secret is often underestimated. When you hold on to something that is against the desire God has for your life, the secret becomes the master. It condemns you, guilts you, and requires you to do more destructive things to give it protection from being found out. The best thing we can do, when we have a secret that is destroying our life, is to expose the secret to the truth of confession and forgiveness by talking to someone who will help us move away from the secret’s power. Then we are free from it’s condemnation and slavery – we’re allowed to live the life God wants us to live.

By keeping your issue a secret you are giving it power to destroy your life while it spreads as a cancer into your thoughts, actions, and relationships. Isolation is the worst way to live a full life, because it convinces a person that no one needs to know, that no one really understands, and ultimately, that no one really cares. That’€™s not true! Life on life community is the best way for a person to flourish in their understanding of self, others and God. However, when we spend all our energies protecting our secret from the world this mindset can create an independence stronghold that feels true but is a lie really killing you from the inside out.

RemedyLIVE is committed to a conversation with you. As a faith based organization we believe the best way to carry out our mission is to serve all of His creation regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation, religion or age. Jesus calls us to love Him and love others because God created everyone – even those who don’€™t believe He exists!

How Do You Forgive? – Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

When someone hurts you, betrays you, or does something to another – how do you forgive? And why would you? Why doesn’t it make more sense to hate someone who hurt you? Doesn’t it show weakness to let someone off the hook when all they deserve is condemnation?

Well- yes – revenge is something that movies, music, and media says should be served with wrath and hate –  but the truth is… when you choose to keep someone in a prison cell of grudge and bitterness, you keep them, rather than release them.

Forgiveness isn’t for the person who’s hurt you, forgiveness is for the one who’s been hurt. It frees them from having to relive the pain each time they think about the incident. It frees them from believing that the past dictates the future. And most of all – it frees them from believing that bitterness and hate is better than giving hurtful situations to God to judge and deal with.

Forgiveness cuts the chain between the two involved – opening the future up to healing and the hope for a better life. Unforgiveness is like a snowball rolling down a hill – it grows bigger and damages whatever’s in it’s path.

Abused by a Boyfriend

If you’ve been abused by a boyfriend you need to get out of the relationship so he can get help before something worse occurs. Staying with someone who’s abusive is sadly common- often because the victim feels a sense of false guilt and compassion for the abuser. But staying with someone who’s abusive rarely ever helps them deal with their problem. Staying with an abuser often affirms that the abuse is no big deal and that it’s normal for relationships.

Leaving an abuser is hard but necessary. It helps the victim find hope and value with someone who they can talk to about the wrong way their boyfriend has treated them. It helps the abuser see they need to get help for the criminal activity they’ve used in the relationship. Abusers often have been abused themselves and need to talk to someone about why they have bent up anger.

Controlling Girlfriends

Controlling girlfriends aren’t so different than controlling boyfriends. But they seem to get a lot more attention as being a nag, being a bother, and being baggage. To be controlling is to be someone who feels their way is the best way, and sometimes, the only way. But if you look deeper into the issue, a controlling person generally has little control at all. They feel out of control, that no one cares, and that if they don’t exert their voice, they may get forgotten all together. When someone is controlling the issue what really needs to be investigated is who are you, how do others see you, and most of all – what are you afraid of… really?

Fear is an indicator that one lacks faith. Faith in self, in others, but mostly faith in God. If you are a controller, or know someone who is, you will often fear failure and the idea of having faith that God has leadership over your life – something that will have devastating ripple effects into other areas of one’s life.
