Lonelier Than Before

Depression can leave you feeling lonelier than you were before – before the thoughts started chewing at your mind driving you crazy, causing you to do things that you wouldn’t normally do like self-harming, doing drugs, and having sex. Doing anything to make the hole in your chest go away or to fill up on its own. I feel these unhealthy habits limit us from talking to anyone. I’m going out on a limb here, but I think it’s safe to say that some teens would rather deal with depression in their own way, not liking what happens when we tell our parents or friends what’s been going on. We automatically feel that medication and multiple therapy appointments will be what our lives will consist of.

From my experiences with depression I can tell you every day will seem like the biggest struggle of your life. It leaves you feeling tired, alone, and anxious. I’m no doctor or psychiatrist, but I am strong believer in talking your feelings out. It may seem too difficult or shameful to talk through this rough patch in your life, but that’s just it, it’s just an obstacle on your journey in becoming the better you. I know it seems quite odd but God works in mysterious ways and if I’m allowed to say, I would say God sometimes works in the most confusing, but helpful, ways. I’m not sure if you reading this is a believer of Jesus, but I would like to say that no matter what you go through you will always get through it with Him. // Written by Kia J

Will I Ever Find Someone?

Will I ever find someone? Is there anyone who would want to date me and find me attractive?

These are very common questions, by everyone. The desire to be pursued and have companionship is a God given desire. We were created that way. But sometimes the desire to be with someone gets mixed up with the lie that we need someone. Self identification always needs to begin and end with the fact that we are whole and complete with God – that human companionship is a compliment to God’s plan, not a replacement of it.

By keeping your issue a secret you are giving it power to destroy your life while it spreads as a cancer into your thoughts, actions, and relationships. Isolation is the worst way to live a full life, because it convinces a person that no one needs to know, that no one really understands, and ultimately, that no one really cares. That’€™s not true! Life on life community is the best way for a person to flourish in their understanding of self, others and God. However, when we spend all our energies protecting our secret from the world this mindset can create an independence stronghold that feels true but is a lie really killing you from the inside out.

RemedyLIVE is committed to a conversation with you. As a faith based organization we believe the best way to carry out our mission is to serve all of His creation regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation, religion or age. Jesus calls us to love Him and love others because God created everyone – even those who don’€™t believe He exists!

Feeling Accepted – John Cooper – Skillet

We all want to feel accepted. We all want to belong. So why does it hurt so much when we’re rejected by people? Well, it may seem obvious, but the truest reason it hurts is because we were created by God for community. We were created to be in the company of people who care for us, look out for us, and want the best for us. When people avoid that or tell us to hit the road it attacks the heart of our deepest desire – to be accepted.

In a sad way, we can never fully count on people to accept us all the time. Humans are generally self centered and not usually considerate of those around them. But God, who’s always present, is only a prayer away. “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” With God’s presence we can always say, “I’m feeling accepted.”

I Will Fail You – Demon Hunter

When you exalt someone to a higher level of respect or admiration the mind can often play tricks on you. You begin to believe that the person is perfect or doesn’t have problems – maybe even that they don’t make mistakes like you do. But whenever you place your confidence in people over placing your confidence in God you learn quickly that people will fail you, thus the song “I Will Fail You” by the guys from Demon Hunter. After someone lets you down you can begin to mistrust others, believe the worst about people, and give up on striving for anything good because you feel those around you aren’t dependable. That’s when you need to face the truth that only God is perfect.
