IDENTITY

Big idea: In the chaos of deceptive noise, find our IDENTITY in the refuge of God.

Psalm 46 (CEV)

God is our mighty fortress,
always ready to help
    in times of trouble.
And so, we won't be afraid!
Let the earth tremble
and the mountains tumble
    into the deepest sea.
Let the ocean roar and foam,
and its raging waves
    shake the mountains.

A river and its streams
    bring joy to the city,
which is the sacred home
    of God Most High.
God is in that city,
and it won't be shaken.
He will help it at dawn.

Nations rage! Kingdoms fall!
But at the voice of God
    the earth itself melts.
The Lord All-Powerful
    is with us.
The God of Jacob
    is our fortress.

Come! See the fearsome things
the Lord has done on earth.
God brings wars to an end
    all over the world.
He breaks the arrows,
shatters the spears,
    and burns the shields.[a]
10 Our God says, “Calm down,
and learn that I am God!
All nations on earth
    will honor me.”

11 The Lord All-Powerful
    is with us.
The God of Jacob
    is our fortress.

ACTIVITY - Quiet Refuge

  • choose to separate from the noise and make quiet 30min a day, for 30 days

    • Don’t participate with any dopamine activators ex- coffee, music, screen time, incense, essential oils

    • Listen the messages in your head and write them down. THEY MAY BE NEGATIVE AND CONDEMNING. Write down the condemning statements then pray in Jesus name for the enemy of God to leave you and for the Spirit of God to reveal to you truth about who you are, who God is, and what God wants for your future. James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

    • For every statement you hear, write it down, then read from the various sections below on how God sees you.

How Does God See Me?

Romans 8:5-6 (NIV)

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Will I let the world define my worth or set my mind on the Spirit to govern me?

Jesus calls us To live IN Him - To be soaked with His Lordship over our lives.

John 10:10 (NIV)

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

We need to renew our mind.

These are identity statements to build a true foundation upon-

I belong To Jesus.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 I have been bought with a price and I belong to God.

I am saved by grace.

Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

I have been chosen by God and adopted as His child.

Ephesians 1:3-8 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us.

I have been established, anointed and sealed by God.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

I am hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:1-4 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

I am a chosen generation, a royal priest hood, a holy nation.

I have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

I am born of God and the evil ones cannot touch me.

1 John 5:18  We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.

I am assured that God works for my good in all circumstances.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

I am free from any condemnation brought against me and I cannot be separated from the love of God.

Romans 8:31-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am a slave of righteousness.

Romans 6:18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit.

John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

I am God's workmanship, created in Christ for good works.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

I am the light of the world.

Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden."

I am more than a conqueror though Christ.

Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

I am being completed in Christ.

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
