Fun things to do after work

The weather is finally starting to turn towards spring and with that comes a new sense of hope and rejuvenation. You may be looking for more to do to fill your day, now that the sun is staying out longer. May we suggest a few activities that can be done indoors and out? Studies show that participating in various activities releases endorphins which will benefit your mental and emotional health, as well as provide a boost of energy. Try a few of our examples below.

Socially

  • Cooking or grilling (have a backyard BBQ)

  • Learn to bake and share your creation with a neighbor.

  • Attend a baseball game

  • Go to church

  • Adult education classes (Masterclass offers great classes on multiple subjects)

  • Volunteer

  • Take a trip to the library

  • Attend a Bible study

Individually

  • Put together a puzzle  

  • Read a new book

  • Crafting (Do something fun with all those magazines that have been collecting dust over the winter)

  • Try an adult Paint By Number

  • Make soap (It’s not as hard as you think and can save you money in the long run!)

  • Research and create home remedies for common ailments

  • Make your own cleaning products (Lemon makes everything smell nice!)

  • Mend some clothes (Don’t throw out your favorite jacket, sew a patch and call it retro)

  • Take adult education classes (Masterclass offers great classes on multiple subjects)

Physically

  • Work out (Let’s try to get rid of the Covid 15 shall we)

  • Sidewalk Chalk  (It can be fun as an adult too!)

  • Hopscotch (A little less easy as an adult, but maybe it’s time to reembrace your inner child)

  • Yoga (Stretching has amazing benefits for your mind and body)

  • Biking (Stationary or outside in nature)

  • Walking

  • Gardening

  • Yard Maintenance

  • Go to a park (When was the last time you sat on a swing?)

  • Visit a wildlife reserve

  • Pick up trash on a walk
