How to eat in a Pandemic
There seem to be two different types of people in this pandemic. There are the people who are advertising for great feats to be accomplished while staying at home, such as learning a new language or working on your beach body, and there are the other kind, who post about going to the fridge for a snack every 20 minutes in between shows. I seem to switch back and forth every day on which person I want to be. I'll eat a salad for lunch and work out three times a day, and the next morning I'll eat chocolate cake for breakfast. The fact is, however, that we should be conscious about the things we are putting in our bodies, especially when we are stuck at home, because we don’t want to come out of this 20 pounds heavier and we don’t want to be rushed to the hospital for something even worse.
Here are some tips on how to have a healthy diet during a pandemic.
Plan out your meals with times
Portion your food correctly
Stay away from alcohol and limit caffeine
When you feel like snacking, drink some tea
If you must snack, choose a piece of fruit or a handful of nuts
Make sure your plate is colorful with lots of fruits and veggies
Buy foods that contain a single ingredient
Buy only enough food for a week, make sure your food is fresh
Don't keep junk food in the house - if you don’t have it, you can’t eat it.
Give yourself a cheat day
